Born in Warsaw, Poland, Monika DEL RIO started her piano studies
when she was four years old. After she received her diploma of Music Master from the
Academia Frederic Chopin in Warsaw, she was awarded a scholarship by the French Government
to continue her studies at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique in Paris.
Versatile in the domains of Art, painting, singing and writing, it's
on the Piano that Monika expresses most profoundly her personality and sensibilities.
When she was 16 years old she became the laureate of the Warsaw
Chopin Bursary Competition for pianists under the age of 18. However, she then decided to
focus on public performance rather than competitions. At this moment, Monika was selected
to represent the hope of Polish pianists in France. She confirmed her role with a crowning
performance in the Salle Debussy at Lyon's Conservatory.
Two years later, she was invited by the Association Frederic Chopin
in Lyon, which had accepted her as member in 1980, to interpret music that had always been
close to her heart... Chopin's. After several performances on Polish Radio and Television,
she made her debut in Paris at the American's Church.
Monika continued her career on the Côte Normande and on the
Atlantic Coast where each of her recitals received the approbation of a growing public,
thanks to her interpretation of Chopin's, Rachmaninoff's and Beethoven's music.
In Paris, Monika appears in Brasilia Hall, Theatre de Nesles and at
Studio Niel. She also animated numerous expositions on a regular basis.
Most recently, her excellent recital in the pompous interiors of the
Polish Embassy in Paris met with more than two hundred personalities for the 71st
Anniversary of the Recoverment of the Independence of Poland, bringing her many ardent
thanks and an abundance of correspondence.

Ostrogski Palace (seat of the Frederic Chopin Association), the Staszic Palace, the Old
Orangerie, Island Palace and the Royal Castle. She participated in a poetico-musical
performance in Krasinski Palace (National Library), in Opinogora (Museum of Romanticism)
and at the seat of the Association of Polish Musicians in Warsaw. At these occasions, she
played some pieces of Erik Satie's music.
